Joseph Nicéphore Niépce

1.     Born March 7, 1765 in Chanlon-sur-Saône, France
2.    French inventor who produced the world's first photograph
3.    Father was wealthy lawyer who made the family flee because of the French Revolution
4.    He is in the International Photography Hall of Fame



What is noteworthy and important about this photograph is that it was the first real photograph. Also, because it was camera obscura. 
the photo was taken in 1826 at Saint-Loup-de-Varennes. the exposure lasted 8 hours. Today the photo is kept in the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center located in Austin, Texas
